Your devices · a responsible route

Stop storing an unused device. Give it a better next step.

Computer, phone, screen, printer, small appliance or cables: identify the device, protect your data and confirm the intake route.

Before you travel

Three checks are enough to get started.

Share the device type, its condition and your location. A photo can make it much faster to confirm the category and available arrangements.

Protect personal data first

Sign out of accounts, back up files and reset the device where possible. If a failed device still contains data, mention it before handover.

Equipment to qualify

Items you can ask us about.

Acceptance and arrangements depend on condition, quantity, equipment type and the applicable framework. Confirming first avoids unnecessary travel.

The priority depends on condition: possible reuse, component recovery, material recycling or an adapted treatment route.

Identify

Device type, condition, quantity and whether it contains a battery.

Protect

Back up, sign out and flag any media that contains data.

Confirm

Check accepted equipment and drop-off or collection arrangements.

Route

Sort the device and select an outcome suited to its condition and makeup.

Your data first

The device can leave. Your information should stay under control.

Deleting files alone does not always remove them. Flag any drive, phone or media containing sensitive information.

Copy photos, documents, contacts and anything you still need.

02

Sign out

Remove personal accounts, SIM cards and memory cards where possible.

03

Reset

Use the manufacturer’s erase or reset option if the device still works.

04

Flag failures

If it no longer starts, state that a data-bearing medium remains inside.
